Replacing Exposition Park, Forbes Field became the third home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, first home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and home to the Pitt Panthers. It stood from 1909 until 1970, opening and closing with games against the Chicago Cubbies. If there was an overflowing crowd, fans were able to sit on the outfield grass. Can you imagine?
